I Shot Barbie…
In early May the call came through from my agent that we had won the Barbie job. Wanting nothing more than to sing this much anticipated news from the roof tops I had to make do with silent slipper swooshing running man around my house, thanks to a glue tight NDA! This month though the campaign came out and I can finally let free my vocal chords and confirm that yes we shot the stills for Barbie, the first ad after the billion dollar movie, and it was a bloody, brilliant, beautiful, bananas shoot! Working with a dream group of ladies from the creative agency 72 and Sunny we shot on location in South Africa using both digital and film photography, along side director Joanna Nordahl who directed the video. Time was tight, pressure was often high, we laughed, we frowned, we bit our nails and held our breaths as these amazing kids brought Barbie to life. Below are some of the photos that will be appearing world wide, in stores, online, in the video and anywhere else Barbs fancies showing her icon self!
What else, what else….
To be honest that is enough for now. There is more but I think Barbie news is groovy enough to stand alone. Plus end of summer beginning of Fall is a busy time of year for everyone so the fact that you even made it down here is pretty awesome, thank you.
